AFSC RESPONSE TO AFGHANISTAN TROOP INCREASE

December 2 — Vigils

If President Obama calls for any amount of troop increase in Afghanistan, AFSC and many other peace and justice organizations across the country are calling for vigils on Wednesday, December 2, in protest.

We welcome you to join or host a vigil on December 2.  You can find vigils planned by AFSC and many local groups near you on the United for Peace and Justice web site.

On AFSC’s Wage Peace: Afghanistan site, we have tips and resources for vigils.   Find out more (PDF) >

Add your voice to our call for:

  • A timeline for withdrawal of U.S./NATO forces
  • No additional troops sent to Afghanistan
  • Diplomatic talks with all parties to the conflict
  • Generous civilian-led development funds
